Now available: Dutch Lowy Trainer Development DVD!!!!
If you’ve made it to one of Dutch’s training seminars you know the extreme value of the information he presents: understanding power output and how to program effectively for a broad population (the clients in your gym) as well as insight from his travels to numerous affiliates across the country and what makes a solid community.
Professionals distinguish themselves as always wanting to learn and expand their knowledge…If you are a professional in the CF arena, this DVD (and his seminar) are guaranteed to enlighten and elevate your game.

Ahhh, I heart Dutch.
Nicki, I’m wondering if you can address location – specifically, its importance or non importance. Do you think there are certain communities in which having a “good” location is more important than in other towns? Have you seen successful CrossFit gyms that pay a rent that most CrossFit gyms would consider outrageous?
Thank you so much,
Jenna
Hi Jenna!
I think I will let other folks comment on this, as I don’t have any direct experience with it, being in a relatively small town with reasonable rents. I know of several affiliates in larger metropolitan areas who have a heck of a time finding a decent location without spending an arm and a leg on overhead. That said, there are plenty of successful affiliates in high rent locations…it just takes a lot more clients before you hit break even. Hopefully we’ll get some folks to comment on this.
Nicki
I attended Dutch’s seminar.
I’m not sure how it would translate to DVD, but if you cannot get to one of his actual seminars. I’m sure this would be the next best thing.
Neil –
The DVD is super dense – I edited it down nice and tight to the most important info. Of course, a DVD can’t include the interaction allowed by a seminar, and it doesn’t contain all the movement coaching and CF L2 type stuff.
Jenna-
I too would be interested in getting some input on this subject. We aren’t ready to expand yet but there is a place one block up the road that is beautiful- Huge open space, big windows on 2 sides, major exposure (we are currently hidden in a run down old shopping mall with no visability). I’m sure the rent is 8-10 times what we are paying now.
I keep walking by and dreaming….
back on topic-
I’ll be ordering this DVD the first week in June. Looking forward to it!
Was signed up for the seminar in Vegas before I knew about the dvd. Got my copy yesterday, watched it and can’t wait until June 6th.
I have heard so many great things. This cert is on my list for sure.
Cody- doesn’t ever hurt to talk to the owner/property manager of the dream location and find out cost and bending room.
We out grew our dumpy, dark, old, out of the way digs for a very cool new, big, bright, and on a main road for EXACTLY the same price per sq ft. Sure, it’s more expensive because it’s bigger… 2000 sqft to 4700 sqft, but well worth it. I was paying $1700/mo, now pay $4000/mo.
And we now have 4 toilets and 2 showers and it instantly screams: PROFESSIONAL at you. Beautiful paint job and beautiful location.
When I was negotiating, I was even able to squeeze out 2 free months and I moved in with only a down payment of $4000.
For us, the better location has resulted in more walk-ins, more conversions, and more referrals. We also have a huge sign on our building. I am so glad we did it.
