I’m at the Portland airport heading home after attending Dave Ramsey’s EntreLeadership 1 Day seminar! What a great, focused day on leadership and essential principles of running a successful small business. It’s always inspiring to listen to a great speaker, someone who has built a company from the ground up and who provides a tremendous service to millions of people.
If you haven’t heard of Dave, he runs a nationally syndicated radio show on personal finance and is a bestselling author of the Total Money Makeover. Great information! I’ve found that every time I attend a seminar, no matter what the topic I take something home. I recommend this seminar for all of you getting your businesses off the ground as well as those of you who’ve been around the block a few times. Whether it’s first time information or reinforcing principles and actions you already implement it is sure to inspire and infuse some fresh perspective on your business and your team.
I love Dave! I started listening to him back when I was a Bally manager.
I was just using him as an example to a client last night. One thing I think Dave is RIGHT ON with is his take on money problems. He often says that money issues are not math prblems, they are BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS! I think the same is true with our fitness. Even if a quick-fix gimic worked, I would never recommend it to anyone because it would not solve the root problem- peoples day-to-day behaviors.
Losing 30 pounds in 30 days is like winning the lottery. It probably won’t happen but even if it does it will only make you look good and feel good temporarily. The behaviors that made you fat to begin with are STILL THERE!
There are alot of similarities between the CrossFit “model” of fitness, business and Dave’s teachings.

Chiming in on this one kind of late, but we LOVE Dave Ramsey. We’ve been listening to him for about 5 years now, and our journey on our financial road hasn’t always been smooth, but we would be a lot worse off now if we hadn’t been following most of the principles he teaches!
And so much of what he teaches about money, and disciplining your money habits, carries over into every area of your life.
I really hope attending this seminar helps your training and business get a big bump up.
